Mr. Dirk is the Managing Partner at VAI with over 30 years of experience in the fields of Traffic Engineering, Transportation Planning and Expert Witness Testimony.  He is a Fellow of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (FITE) and is a Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the states of Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Virginia, and has been Certified as a Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) by the Transportation Professional Certification Board, an affiliate of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE).  His responsibilities include the design and analysis of roadway, intersection, and interchange systems, and pedestrian and bicycle facilities, and the preparation and review of traffic impact studies, safety assessments and roadway and intersection design plans for private and municipal clients.
